Anxiety in the Dental Office

Anywhere from 10% to 20% of people have anxiety about dental procedures.  Some people have such a deep fear of the dentist that they put off going all together.  This can unfortunately cause the need for more invasive dental procedures than if you stay on a regular maintanance program to begin with.  The dentist and staff here at First Impression Dental can empathize with your anxieties and are here to help.  We would like to be here to help you cope with any fear and encourage you to tell us how you're feeling.  Communicating that fear and letting us know of any bad experiences you've had at a previous office is the first step to calming your anxiety.

Some distractions can help such as wearing headphones and listening to music.  Other's prefer to be talked to and given a step by step on what is happening throughout the visit.  We are happy to help in any way we can and can even accomodate breaks in treatment if needed.  So if you have any concerns or would like to talk about anything involving your dental treatment we are here for you.  Call the office and schedule an appointment anytime.  (559) 513-0707
